Modern Home Architecture: Cornell House by Stephen Dynia Architects
The urban house of One-Two of Houston Texas is made for the lotissor Carol Isaak Barden by the architect Francois De Menil.
The project metaphorical was imagined like two dancers in the stage, each dancer holding his associate but always looking at beyond another. The buildings were thus built that they are completely distinct even if they divide a common plaza. One of the units to the staircase of rolling up and two rooms to be slept. The other unit has three rooms to sleep, more point of view and a platform in addition to room to be slept principal.
The building site inclines downwards, being in a zone of flood thus it had to be increased to the top above the level of flood. The two units of 2.500 square feet were made using the lpe for floors and the external platforms, mahogany tree for boxes, stucco, they both have chimneys. And sold to two different purchasers, less than one year a partition even if the glance of outside (and interior) thus prefabricated, and contrast between the floors out of wooden and the walls white is so rough, there is something about these units of urban house of One-Two which makes so elegant and clean.
